Focus

I re-founded Erquiaga Arms to address and issue I saw. I have several law enforcement friends that had purchased equipment using their own money only to be disappointed with the performance of the equipment. There are no shops in the area that could have these folks test out equipment configurations and find out what suits them. This lets me demo an assortment of rifle and suppressor combinations that they like and can test fire.

My eye is toward the professional who carries their equipment every day. With that said, I don’t sell bottom of the barrel or airsoft products. I provide high quality gear and equipment that is made in the United States or from other known quality manufacturers. That means to cheap Chinese substitutions. If your budget is bottom of the barrel, then I’m not your guy. I want to be confident that the equipment leaving my shop can be trusted with someone’s life.

About

This is my Grandfather, Juan Erquiaga. He is the man that inspired me to join the Army and give back to the country that gave us so many opportunities. I would visit him while I was on leave and we would talk about all the newest developments in firearms technology. If you’re into old school firearms, then you may have heard about my Grandfather. He was an engineer and firearms designer. There are a few stories floating around about him and Gordan Ingram and Fidel Castro, but I assure you that there is way more to the story. I’ll write up more about him in a later post.

A quick rundown of who I am. After I graduated high school in Indiana, I joined the Army as a Small Arms and Artillery Repairman. I spent about 9 years in my MOS and was proud to serve. I was spent time in Hawaii, Colorado, California, Texas, Kentucky, Australia, and East Timor. When people ask my what I fixed in the Army, I would tell them that I repaired anything that went Bang, Boom, or Pop. Obviously, that isn’t quite true, I never got to work on aviation ordnance or M1 tanks. That’s ok because everything involved with tanks is heavy and wants to smash your fingers. Aviation is a whole different lane and they have their own unique requirements. The biggest piece of equipment I worked on was the M198 155mm Towed Howitzer. If you want more war stories and lies, reach out and we can chat.

After my time in the Army, I moved to sunny California (I know, I know) to try my hand at being an Armorer in Hollywood. That didn’t work out. It’s a pretty closed industry and you have to know somebody to even get a chance to talk to someone. Sheesh. With that hope dashed, I decided to get into I.T. and see what’s what. I managed to get an entry position and from there I worked at several companies throughout the years expanding my knowledgebase and expertise. In my last few years I spent time integrating hardware and software for document management and as the company’s internal I.T. manager. I got a bit tired working in tech and my wife and I decided to tr something different and we moved to Oklahoma to purchase a farm and give that a try. So far it’s been great! In addition to that I decided to re-found Erquiaga Arms because firearms are a passion of mine.
